- Create Bench Grids: OP Design > Create Bench Grids
- Bench Grid Setup > Base elevation
- Bench height
- DD name (BENCH)
- Limit Top Bench (either number of benches or elevation)
- Generate List
- OK
- Bench List: OP Design > Bench List
- Pit crest
- Grid Directory (BENCH)
- Fill with Grids
- Enter Wall slope / berm dimensions
- Enter Strip Slope / Berm dimensions
- Save
- OK
- Pit Design Boundary: OP Design > Pit/dump Design
- Bench List (Select bench list and load)
- Design > Boundary > Digitise
- Bench (base bench)
- Digitise > Toe
- OK
- Select base Polygon > right click > accept
- Design > Boundary > Automatic
- Project Up
- From: Base bench (toe)
- To: Top bench (crest)
- OK
- Pit Design Strip
- Design > Strip > digitise
- Bench (base), Strip 1, toe, OK
- Digitise strip inside pit boundary, OK
- Design > Strip > Offset
- Bench (base), toe
- Strip from 1 To: (estimate number of strips required for pit) e.g 42
- Strip width
- OK
- Design > Strip > Normal Automatic
- Multiple Strips: From1 – To end stip (e.g 42)
- Project Up From: Base Bench, toe
- To: top bench, crest.

- Design > Strip > First/Last Strip
- First, Digitise, (digitise inside to outside boundary, right click, accept)

- Last, Digitise (digitise inside to outside boundary, right click, accept)

- Design > Strip > Strip Ends
